Photography has always been woven into my life. From a young age, my parents integrated it into our daily world in their own unique ways. My mom, ever the artist, would set up a brass box in the backyard, drape a velvet sheet over it, and pose my sister and me, turning everyday moments into timeless portraits. I loved being her subject, mesmerized by the way she transformed ordinary spaces into something magical.
My dad, an engineer, had a deep appreciation for the mechanics of the camera. He saw photography through a technical lens, and his fascination with how things worked naturally rubbed off on me.
By the time I was in high school, I had fallen in love with creating visions of my own. I staged elaborate shoots, an Alice in Wonderland fantasy, a circus-inspired session, ballet dancers twirling on the Asbury Park boardwalk, always driven by the excitement of bringing ideas to life through my lens.
